Although big cats like lions are usually associated with Africa, they are found all around the world. This collection of maps shares where each of the seven big cat species — tigers, leopards, cheetahs, lions, jaguars, snow leopards, and cougars — have been observed using data from iNaturalist.
Africa and India are the two places in the world where you can find 3 different species of big cat living in the same area. Elsewhere in Central and South America, you can see both jaguars and cougars — the only two species of big cat found only in the Americas.
