Major League Baseball (MLB)’s championship series is known as the World Series, but how much of the globe does it actually represent? As many baseball fans know, the sport is mostly popular in the Americas as well as Japan and Korea. The map for the 2024 season reflects this, with a vast majority of the players from outside of the U.S. coming from Latin American countries like Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.
Since we’re talking about the World Series, below are maps for the two teams that contended for the 2024 title: the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees. Lucky for me, both teams have already lost to each other in the past, so I don’t need to update the map after the Dodgers victory.
