Cheyenne, Wyoming based Sinclair Oil is famous for its green long-necked dinosaur logo. What you may not have known is that all of the brontosaurus fossils ever discovered in the entire world were found not far from Cheyenne. This makes for a fun map implying the existence of “farm to table” gasoline.
Using data from PaleoBioDB and AllThePlaces.xyz, I mapped the distance between every Sinclair gas station and the closest brontosaurus fossil discovery location. Many of the gas stations in Wyoming and Colorado are located only a few miles from a brontosaurus discovery! The closest is only 2 miles from a Sinclair fill-up station.
